To us, the Heart of FAAN lies in our supporters.  Our supporters are the ones who are helping us to raise awareness, provide advocacy and education, and advance research.  They are the ones we stand with as we strive to find a cure for food allergies. 

Join us in raising money and putting a face on the Heart of FAAN by nominating your child as the 2011 Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador.  We are looking for FAAN supporters with a food allergy between the ages of 3 and 11 who have a desire to help educate the world.

The Role of the Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador
As the Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador, your child will help us increase food allergy awareness by participating in FAAN events, sharing his or her story, and receiving recognition in the media.  Your child’s picture and story will be included in printed materials, including brochures, posters, and on FAAN’s  websites.
 
Nomination Process (Apr. 1, 2010 - Dec. 31, 2010)
All nominations will be taken online at a donation of $100 per entrant.  You will then be able to create and edit your child’s personal page to include:

•  His or her name
•  List of allergies
•  Brief biography
•  Short explanation of why he or she should be the Ambassador
•  Photo
•  YouTube video (optional, but highly encouraged)

Once you have paid the online donation and created your personal page, people will be able to search for your child’s page to view the information.

Nominations must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2010.

Once you have completed the personal page, send an e-mail to ambassador@foodallergy.org to inform us it is ready for approval.  Your page will be approved within two business days.

Selection Process (Apr. 1, 2010 - Dec. 31, 2010)
The Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador will be selected by the public.  People will be able to vote for their favorite nominee at an online donation of $10 per vote.  The child with the most votes at 11:59 p.m. ET on December 31 will be named the 2011 Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador, and will be announced in January.  You will be able to track your child’s progress throughout the voting months by logging in to this website.  All voting must be done online, and cannot be mailed in.

Where the Donations Go
All donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. FAAN is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. All monies received from the Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador Program will support FAAN’s research and education programs.
