How are future Walk locations chosen?
Locations are selected based on available leadership (view Committee Tasks) in the community, a strong basis for a planning committee (support group, community contacts), availability of a 2- to 3-mile route along paved paths (an off-street loop is preferable, but not required), and connections to the business community for sponsorships and walker recruitment.
How can I begin to organize a Walk in a city or town near me?
Securing Walk leadership is the first step in organizing a Walk. A committed and dedicated Chair or Co-Chair from within your local community must be identified and in place in order for FAAN to consider approving a potential new Walk site.
