Welcome to Team Zoe Gravel
Help Me Reach My Goal!
I am participating in the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network's (FAAN's) Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure with my whole family. The event will raise funds to find a cure for food allergy and to educate others.
I have had severe allergies to peanuts and all tree nuts since I was two years old. I get tested every year and it seems to be getting worse not better. My parents are very diligent at keeping me safe and reading every food label and to stay away from cross contaimination. But it is very difficult to find foods that are not.
This past New Years I was staying at a friends cabin and her nephew was eating a PB & J sandwitch. I stayed away as far as I could. But than I happen to pass him, there was a tiny little bit of peanut butter left over on his plate. My arm accidently touched the peanut butter and within a few seconds my whole arm was coverd with bright red rash and than I started having trouble breathing. Good thing my parents always carry Benedryl with them otherwise it could of gotten a lot worse. My mom always has to carry an Epi Pen with her as well, just in case. Thank goodness we haven't had to use that on me yet and hopefully never.
FAAN's mission is to raise public awareness, to provide advocacy and education, and to advance research on behalf of all those affected by food allergies and anaphylaxis.
Please support my fundraising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of the estimated 12 million Americans with food allergies and their families. You can make your secure credit card donation by selecting the Support Me button.
Any amount helps me reach my fundraising goal. We greatly appreciate your support!
Love,
Zoe
