Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) works on behalf of the 15 million Americans who have food allergy, including all those at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis. This potentially deadly disease affects 1 in every 13 children in the United States – or roughly 2 in every classroom. Formed in 2012 as the result of a merger between the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network and the Food Allergy Initiative, FARE's mission is to ensure the safety and inclusion of all those with food allergies while relentlessly seeking a cure.
The merger combines FAAN's expertise as the most trusted source of information, programs, and resources related to food allergy and anaphylaxis with FAI's leadership as the world's largest private source of funding for food allergy research. Both FAAN and FAI bring to FARE the tens of thousands of followers that they have gained over the years. This new paradigm provides much greater exposure and opportunities for our corporate supporters.
In 2013, the nationwide FARE Walk for Food Allergy campaign will be a significant source of financial support for the organization as well as a key vehicle for increasing awareness of our mission and activities. FARE Walks are also a unique and powerful marketing outlet for our corporate supporters.
In 2013, we are expecting over 40,000 participants in our 65+ walks across the country. FARE Walk participants appreciate sponsor participation, want to interact with them on Walk Day, and are fiercely loyal to companies that support the food allergy community.
